Camberwell homes
Camberwell is dominated by detached period homes: Edwardian and Federation houses, Californian bungalows and other interwar styles, many on good-sized blocks. Apartments and townhouses cluster closer to Camberwell Junction and the train line. Owners here tend to renovate with care, keeping the front of the house intact and modernising behind it. That often means an original or patched-up switchboard feeding a brand-new kitchen and family room, which is a mismatch worth fixing.
