Hawthorn East is mostly detached housing, so commercial work here is small in scale. The shops and offices on Burke Road and Riversdale Road are where we see tenancies change hands, medical or allied-health suites fit out, and small retailers refresh their lighting. Along Tooronga Road there are a few more business premises with their own power needs. Many local jobs are really home offices or consulting rooms attached to houses, which need a proper circuit, extra powerpoints and data cabling rather than a patched-together power board. We cover shop fit-outs, office electrical and tenancy checks for landlords. We plan around trading hours, keep cabling neat and make sure the switchboard matches what the business actually runs.
