Many apartment owners ask about LED downlights in Hawthorn, then find the ceiling cavity has barely any room. We work out what fits and offer alternatives that still look good.
Hawthorn 3122
Ceiling space is the first question in a Hawthorn flat. Interwar and 1960s blocks near Burwood Road often have shallow cavities or concrete above, which rules out standard recessed fittings. We check before promising anything. Where downlights will not fit, surface-mounted LEDs, wall lights, pendant lights and lamps on dimmers give you a result nobody will guess was a workaround. In the Victorian and Edwardian houses nearby, the picture is different. High ceilings suit pendants and picture lighting, and the roof space gives us room to fit downlights where you want them. Lighting installation in Hawthorn also means thinking about the board. Older houses with ceramic fuses often have lighting on circuits with no safety switch, which we can fix at the same time. We choose warm colour temperatures that suit period rooms, not the cold glare of bargain-bin fittings.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main lighting page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Hawthorn.
Good work. Happy locals.

“Couldn't recommend Steve enough. If you're looking for a professional, punctual and reliable electrician - Steve is your man. He lit up my home - literally - and metaphorically, with his bright ideas and even brighter smile.”

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
Yes. We can use slim surface-mounted LED panels, wall lights, track or pendants, all with dimmers. We check the cavity and the body corporate's rules first, then recommend what looks best without cutting into anything we should not.
