Hawthorn has some of Melbourne's oldest suburban houses, and plenty were rewired once, long ago. That earlier job left ceramic fuses, or a board with no safety switches on the lighting and power circuits. Then came the kitchen renovation, a heat pump and a home office. The old board starts to struggle, and it is the weak link in an otherwise renovated home. We replace it with a modern board that has RCD protection on every circuit and circuit breakers instead of fuse wire. We label each one and leave you a clear layout. In period streets we keep any external work, such as meter box changes, as discreet as we can. Apartments are different again, with shared meters and limited unit boards. We check what your building allows before we plan anything. It is a safety job first and a capacity job second.
