The 1960s and 1970s brick homes here were often built as spacious family houses, and over time the electrical load has grown with them. Think of a double garage with a freezer and tools, a kitchen refit, a pool pump and an extra living space. Many still run on the original board, which was sized for a much smaller demand. When we open a board in a house like this, we find circuits doubled up and breakers working harder than they should. A new switchboard gives each major area its own circuit and adds safety switches that cut power quickly if there is a fault. It also gives room for future additions such as an EV charger. In apartments, the main board sits in a communal area controlled by the owners corporation, but the board inside your unit is yours to upgrade. We label every circuit.
