Two-storey homes collect heat upstairs, which is why bedrooms are the usual spot for split systems here. Each unit needs a dedicated circuit and an isolator by the outdoor unit, which is the electrical work we do. The installer you choose handles the refrigerant side. We often run cable through the roof space to reach bedrooms on the upper floor. In a house with ducted heating and a lot of lighting, we check the switchboard has capacity, and add spare circuits or a sub-board if it does not. For older homes being renovated, a board upgrade may come first. Ceiling fans pair nicely with split systems in living areas, and we position them to keep clear of downlights and cornices. We can work after handover or alongside other trades.
