Air conditioning is one of the first things families add after a renovation, and it is often the thing that shows up an old board. We provide the electrical side. That means a dedicated circuit from the switchboard, an isolator near the outdoor unit and a tidy connection to the indoor head. An air conditioning installer does the refrigerant work. In an Edwardian or interwar house, we run cable through the roof space where we can, so the walls stay intact. Heritage overlays mean outdoor units should sit at the side or rear. Ceiling fan installation works well in bedrooms and sunrooms, and we check each ceiling to find a firm fixing point. Some families choose a fan in the main bedroom and a split system in the living area. We check the board's capacity before deciding. If it is near its limit, we say so before you buy the unit.

Sometimes, but we check capacity first. A split system needs a dedicated circuit, and an old fuse board may have no room for it or no safety switch. If so, we suggest upgrading the board as part of the job. We explain before you order the unit.
