Older flats have a single antenna socket in the lounge and little else. Tenants and owners now want wired internet to a desk, a smart TV that is not fighting Wi-Fi and a mount that does not leave cables hanging down the wall. We run data cable from the router position to where you need it, fit wall plates and test each run. In Edwardian houses, high ceilings and good roof space often make cable runs simple. In brick flats, we plan routes carefully and may use conduit. We mount TVs on a bracket suited to the wall type and conceal leads where possible. For rentals, the agent or landlord should approve drilling, and in apartment buildings we avoid common walls unless permitted. We leave the room tidy and the cables labelled.
