Small kitchens in older walk-up flats are often cramped, with a freestanding gas stove tucked into a corner. Induction brings a flat, easy-clean surface and no flame, but the electrical side needs attention. The cooktop needs its own circuit, and older panels may not have spare capacity. We check the board first and tell you if an upgrade is needed. In a building with gas risers or shared pipes, the plumber handles disconnection and capping and we do the rest. Check whether your owners corporation requires approval for changes to the kitchen services. We also measure the benchtop cutout, since induction cooktops come in different sizes and the old gas hob rarely matches. When done, we test each zone and show you how to use the controls.
