Induction cooktop installation

The question we hear most is whether an old house can run induction at all. Usually it can, but the answer sits in the board and the cable, not the cooktop. Many Mont Albert kitchens were extended at the back while the period rooms stayed, so the wiring to the kitchen can be a patchwork of ages. We trace what fed the old gas-and-oven setup, check the switchboard has room, and install a dedicated circuit sized for the cooktop. Gas disconnection is a job for a licensed gasfitter, so we plan our visit around theirs. Induction also changes the benchtop cutout and the cabinet below, so check measurements with your cabinetmaker or supplier before you order. Once everything is connected, we test the circuit and show you where it is isolated at the board.
