House rewiring in Mont Albert is a different job in a Federation home than in a post-war one. We plan the rewire around your plaster, leadlights and ceilings so the damage stays small.
Mont Albert 3127
Houses from the early 1900s can still carry rubber or cloth wiring in the roof space and walls, especially in the original front rooms. It may have survived because nothing has failed yet, not because it is safe. In Mont Albert the back of the house has often been renovated, so you may have new cable in one half and old wiring in the other. We assess both, then plan the rewire in stages that suit how you live. High ceilings and decorative plaster mean we work from the roof space and under the floors where we can, instead of opening walls. Leadlight, cornices and timber panelling are protected before we begin. The switchboard, safety switches and circuits are renewed together, so the whole system matches. If the house is under a heritage overlay, we keep any new external work low-key.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Mont Albert.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ

Not everywhere. With high ceilings we can often run cable through the roof space and under the floor, cutting only small access points. Some wall openings are usually unavoidable, and we will show you where they fall before we start.
