Big houses ask for a lot of power in a lot of places. A grand Edwardian hall needs outlets for lamps and vacuuming, a family room needs charging spots for everyone, and a garden entertaining area wants power for speakers, a fridge and heaters. We plan positions on a walk-through, then route cable through the roof space, subfloor or cavity so skirting boards, plaster and joinery are left alone. In homes under heritage overlays, we keep new outlets discreet and place them where they will not interrupt original features. For the larger contemporary rebuilds, extra powerpoints in the butler's pantry, home office and outdoor kitchen are typical requests. We also check how much load the circuit already carries, because a big house with many added outlets can quietly overload one that was never meant for it.

In most cases, yes. We use roof space, subfloor and wall cavities to route cable, and choose outlet positions that avoid decorative features. Sometimes a surface-mounted fitting is the neatest answer. We talk through the options on site before we cut anything.
