Switchboard upgrades

Plenty of interwar and post-war homes here still carry the board they were wired with, or one patched decades ago. They were designed for lighting, a radio and perhaps a stove, not air conditioning, a modern oven and a dryer all running together. The symptoms are familiar: a breaker that keeps tripping when two appliances start, or a fuse wire that someone has bridged. We replace the old panel with a new one that has circuit breakers and RCD protection, and label every circuit. The upgrade also tells us if the supply cable and meter connection need attention. We believe in sorting the board first, because every later job, whether cooling or a kitchen, relies on it. Owners of 1960s units get the same treatment, and we coordinate with the body corporate where the meter is shared.
