Caulfield East is small and busy. Student and residential apartment buildings have gone up near the station and campus, alongside older flats and a limited number of houses. Many residents rent, and a lot of buildings are managed by owners corporations or agents, so access and approval come first. Apartments here often need more powerpoints and better data and TV points for study and work. Shops, cafes and offices around Derby Road and Dandenong Road need maintenance, lighting and fit-out work done outside peak trading.
