Many of the older flats around Derby Road were lit with one central fitting per room. It throws a harsh circle of light and leaves corners dim, which is hard on anyone studying at night. Where a ceiling space is accessible, we can fit downlights evenly through a room. Where it is not, a pendant or a better surface fitting is often the honest answer, and we will tell you which suits your unit. Dimmers help with late sessions and wind-down time. In shops and small offices along Dandenong Road, we upgrade tired tubes to LED so staff and customers see properly. Rental properties need the owner or agent on board, so we deal with them directly and keep tenants informed. Strata buildings often have rules about ceiling penetrations, so we check those before anything is cut.

Often yes. A new LED surface fitting or a pendant can replace the old light on the existing wiring, with no downlight holes. A dimmer can usually go on the same circuit. We check the ceiling type before suggesting anything and ask your agent first.
