Houses from the 1950s and 1960s develop their own set of faults. Switches wear out, connections loosen and circuits that were fine for one heater get overloaded when three things are plugged into them. Sometimes the board trips and no one is sure why. Our approach starts with fault-finding. We trace the cause, rather than flipping the breaker back on and leaving. Ashwood also has plenty of townhouse developments with shared driveways or lighting, and in those cases it helps to find out whether the strata or body corporate looks after the problem. Repairs we see most often include dead outlets, failed outdoor lights, faulty smoke alarm connections and exhaust fans that have stopped. We fix what is wrong, tell you if something else is brewing and keep the explanation in plain English. If a job is bigger than a repair, we say so.
