The board is usually small, and the renovations that came after have been squeezed in around it. A newer kitchen and an updated bathroom may have been joined to whatever was available. We replace the old board with a modern one, fit safety switches and circuit breakers, and sort the circuits so major appliances aren't sharing. Because the wiring behind it may be original in places, we also test the circuits as we go and tell you what we find. If something looks like it needs attention, we explain and don't push you. Cottage cupboards are tight, so we plan the board size and cable entry before we start. Original details like timber doors and architraves are protected during the work. Anyone with a rear extension coming should upgrade first.
