Many homes here have had their wiring improved once, then added to in parts as the household changed. The result is often a patchwork board, with a mix of old fuses, newer breakers and a few circuits no one remembers adding. Then the load grows. A heated pool, a ducted system, a home office and a second fridge in the garage all draw from the same place. We replace the lot with a clean modern board, fit safety switches and RCD protection on the circuits that need it, and label everything so it makes sense. We check what the supply can carry before new ducted heating or an EV charger goes on. The board usually lives in a garage or side passage, so we protect the surroundings and tidy up as we go.
