The missing piece in many well-kept interwar homes is a switchboard upgrade in McKinnon, where lights and powerpoints still sit on circuits with no safety switch. We fit a modern board with RCDs.

A lot of McKinnon houses look lovely and have been looked after, yet the board is still the one fitted decades ago. That usually means ceramic fuses or a handful of old breakers, and no safety switches on the lighting or power circuits. We replace the lot with a new board that has circuit breakers and RCDs, label every circuit and test them. Because we find old cloth or rubber cable in many roof spaces here, we look at what the board feeds before we wire it up, and we tell you what we see. If the wiring behind it is sound, the new board goes straight on. If not, you can plan the rewire around it. Units and townhouses near the station get the same treatment, though their boards tend to be newer and simpler.
