A bungalow renovated in stages often has a new kitchen on modern wiring and a back bedroom still running off a single outlet. We plan the powerpoints for the whole house, so each stage joins up instead of adding another extension lead. Where a wall is already open for the next stage, that is the easiest moment to add outlets. In the post-war units and newer townhouses around McKinnon station, the opposite problem shows up, with plenty of outlets in the wrong places. We shift or add a double powerpoint beside the couch, the desk or the bed. A USB-C outlet lets you retire the bulky charger blocks. Outside, a weatherproof powerpoint on the deck or garage wall handles the mower and the party lights. Everything is tested and sits behind a safety switch.
