Kew East now mixes original 1950s homes with large rebuilds, and the lighting questions differ. In a new double-storey house, owners want control: scenes, dimming and perhaps app-based switching, all planned before the walls close up. In a post-war bungalow, they want warmth and brightness without a major renovation. We handle both. For existing homes, LED downlight installation starts with a look at the roof space to confirm the insulation and cable runs. For new builds, we advise on switch positions and circuits early, so the lighting is flexible later. Outside, garden lighting along the path or around a patio makes the rear of the house usable on summer evenings. Often yes, but it depends on the switch box depth and the LED type. Some dimmers need a neutral wire that older houses lack. We check your wiring and recommend dimmers that suit it. Where a dimmer will not suit, we offer an alternative control.
