Oven installation in Kew East covers wall ovens in renovated kitchens and freestanding replacements in original homes, each starting with the oven circuit. We check the supply before we connect it.
Kew East 3102
Interwar and post-war homes in Kew East often have an oven circuit that has served the same oven for decades. When a new wall oven goes in during a renovation, we test whether the cable and protection suit the new appliance. Modern ovens, especially larger ones, can draw more than the old circuit was built for. If the existing circuit is not up to it, we run a new one. A freestanding oven swap is simpler, but we still check the isolating switch and the condition of the connection. With wall ovens, the connection point has to sit in a cavity beside or behind the unit, and that is much easier to set up before cabinets are fixed. Fixing a faulty appliance is outside our work, so those go to the manufacturer. Our job is safe supply and connection.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main ovens page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Kew East.
Good work. Happy locals.

“Arrived within 20 minutes of me calling and explaining that half my property's powerpoints were inactive, promptly worked out and explained the issue to me, and had it completely resolved same day. High quality and clean work, could not be happier!”

FAQ

Not always. Newer ovens can draw more current than older circuits were designed for. We check the cable size and the protection at the board, and replace the circuit if it is not suited. The result is a connection that is safe and tested.
