House rewiring in Kew East is worth considering when a post-war home still has its original cable and the family has big renovation plans. We explain what we find plainly.
Kew East 3102
Houses built in the years after the war were wired with the materials of the day, and some still have that original cable. It may have outlived its sensible life, with insulation that has hardened or cracked. Owners usually discover this when a builder opens up a wall or ceiling for an extension. Rather than splice new circuits onto tired cable, a rewire replaces the lot with modern cabling and a new board. In brick homes with accessible roof spaces, the work is less disruptive than in older period houses. We plan outlet positions and lighting circuits for how you live now, with enough capacity for a new kitchen and open living space. Where an owner is demolishing and rebuilding, no rewire is needed, and we simply wire the new house from scratch.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Kew East.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
Not always. We test the existing cable and inspect the board. If it is sound, we connect the extension to it safely. If the cable is aged or the board is overloaded, a rewire may be the better route.
