Post-war brick homes in Kew East can run warm in summer, and a ceiling fan is a quick way to help. In low-ceilinged bungalows we use flush-mount models. In the new double-storey rebuilds with tall open rooms, longer downrods work better. For split systems, we install the electrical side: a circuit for the unit, an isolator outside and the connection. Mounting and refrigerant are for your air-conditioning installer. In a new build, we recommend planning circuits and isolator positions before the walls are lined, which is far less work than fixing it later. In older houses, we check the board has room for another circuit. Where a board was only partly upgraded, this is a good time to finish the job. We coordinate with your installer on cable runs.
