The kitchens in narrow terraces are often small or extended into a new space, and the oven position changes in the process. That means a new cutout, sometimes a new circuit, and a cable run from a board that may sit at the other end of the house. We look at the wiring first. If the oven circuit is old or undersized, we replace it. A wall oven needs a properly rated breaker and an isolating switch in a sensible spot. Many Albert Park homes have old and new circuits side by side from earlier renovations, so we test rather than assume. In heritage homes we protect cornices and timber work while we run cable. Fitting and wiring the new oven is our part. A faulty old one goes to an appliance technician first.
