House rewiring in Hampton helps timber cottages whose wiring has been extended rather than replaced. We rewire older homes carefully so cornices, floors and renovations stay intact.
Hampton 3188
Edwardian and interwar weatherboards in Hampton usually have lovely bones and tired wiring. Over decades, circuits have been added to rather than replaced, and the original cable can be past its safe life. Rewiring a timber house has its own considerations: access under floors and in roof spaces is generally good, but wall cavities may have bracing and insulation. We plan routes to protect plaster and trim. When the cottage is being renovated, we rewire while the walls are open. Before quoting, we explain what is behind the walls and which sections are worth doing and which can wait. For the newer homes that have replaced old cottages nearby, wiring is typically modern, and we say so rather than suggest unnecessary work. A good rewire sets up the house for the next few decades.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Hampton.
Good work. Happy locals.

Often easier than brick, because we can use the roof space and subfloor. Some walls with bracing or insulation need extra care. We inspect the house, explain how we would reach each room and tell you where some patching might be unavoidable.
