Hampton has a mix of Edwardian and interwar weatherboards, Californian bungalows and post-war houses, with a lot of knockdown rebuilds and townhouses replacing them. You can see original timber cottages next to modern two-storey homes. The older places often have small switchboards with ceramic fuses and wiring that has been extended rather than replaced. Being close to the bay also means outdoor fittings and powerpoints can wear faster in the salty air, so we use suitable weatherproof gear. Renovators here commonly update kitchens with new ovens and cooktops, and want lighting that suits light-filled living areas. We are happy to work with your builder or on a smaller job by ourselves.

Salty air can corrode standard fittings over time. For outdoor lights and powerpoints near the bay, we use weatherproof fittings with suitable IP ratings and corrosion-resistant materials. We also make sure outdoor circuits are protected by safety switches, which is important wherever water and power are close together.
