Switchboard upgrades

People restore these homes with real care: floors sanded, cornices repaired, fireplaces reopened. The switchboard is usually the last thing anyone looks at, and it's often the oldest thing in the house. We find ceramic fuses, boards with no safety switch and kitchens upgraded without anyone checking the circuits behind them. A new board replaces all that with individual breakers and RCDs, each circuit labelled and tested. Buyers and sellers often ask us for a board check around the time of sale, because a modern board is easier to insure and gives a new owner confidence. We aim to fit the new board where the old one sat, so the finishes around it stay intact and the hallway doesn't look like a building site. We take the time to do it neatly, because it's the part of the electrical system you'll look at every time something trips.
