A double wall oven or a steam oven drawing on the same circuit as the dishwasher is a recipe for tripped breakers. In bigger homes the kitchen has often been rebuilt in pieces, and the oven circuit sometimes dates back to the last renovation. Before the oven goes in, we check the cable size, the breaker and the connection point. If it isn't right, we fix it. We prefer to meet the joiner on site, because tall units need the power outlet in the right place and the cavity cleared. Some Kooyong owners are moving from a freestanding range to a wall oven and a separate cooktop, which means rerouting power. We install the appliance and connect it safely. Repairs to the oven itself are a job for the manufacturer or an appliance technician.
