Balaclava homes
Balaclava is dense. Small Edwardian cottages share streets with interwar flats and a lot of 1960s and 70s brick walk-ups, with newer apartments around Carlisle Street and the train line. Many residents rent, so landlords and owners corporations are often the ones arranging work. The brick walk-ups tend to have solid walls, few powerpoints and boards in a meter cupboard on the stairwell. Cottages often have small boards that struggle once air conditioning and an induction cooktop arrive. We plan around access to common areas, keep work neat in solid brick, and give owners clear notes on what we found and fixed for their records.

Yes. In solid brick we can either chase a neat channel and patch it, or run slim surface ducting that can be painted to match. We talk through both options first. If the circuit runs through common areas, we will also check whether the owners corporation needs to approve it.
