Induction cooktop installation

The small Edwardian cottages near Hotham Street often have a board that was never meant for a cooktop and split systems running together. An induction unit needs a dedicated circuit, and in a cottage we frequently find the board needs attention first. We check the load on the board, then run the new cable through the roof or subfloor to the kitchen. In brick walk-ups the route is harder, so we plan around solid walls and agree the path with the owner. Gas to induction also means the old gas supply must be capped by a licensed gasfitter. We coordinate with them so the kitchen does not sit half finished. Many Balaclava kitchens are compact, and induction's flat surface gives you back some benchtop space. We install the cooktop and its circuit. We do not repair the appliance.
