Electrician

Grand old mansions carved into flats, Art Deco blocks and modern towers often share the same St Kilda street. We sort out the wiring behind all of them, one building at a time.

St Kilda homes

Electrical work
in St Kilda.

Housing here is a real mix. Big Victorian and Edwardian houses were split into flats decades ago, and many still run on shared meter panels and tired circuits added piece by piece. Interwar Art Deco blocks sit beside 1960s and 70s walk-ups, with newer apartment towers near Fitzroy Street and the Esplanade. That means plenty of small apartments with too few powerpoints, old fuse boards in common areas, and owners corporations who need to sign off before we touch shared wiring. We work with strata managers on access, keep common-area work tidy, and test each flat's circuits properly so you know exactly what you are living with.

“Steven provided a good and accurate quote over the phone and the job came in on price. Contacted about arrival time the night before and showed up when expected. The outdoor power point was installed within 20 minutes and the job was finished and cleaned well. Nice to deal with and enjoyed our dog coming by to check out what was going on.”

Powerpoints

“Steve and Jason installed several new downlights and powerpoints in my apartment, as well as installing a bathroom fan and doing a general switchboard check. The work was done very fast and to high quality. Steve had great ideas on how to improve the lighting and ventilation in my apartment in a cost effective manner. Steve's input really improved the look of my bathroom in particular, it almost looks like a new room!”

FAQ

St Kilda electrical FAQs

Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.

My flat is in an old converted mansion. Do I need the owners corporation's approval to upgrade the switchboard?

If your meter or main switch sits on a shared panel in a common area, yes, the owners corporation usually needs to approve work there. Work on the circuits inside your own flat normally does not. We can look at the setup first and tell you which parts are yours.
