Thick walls and old plaster are no friend to wifi, and a house with several rooms off a long hall can struggle. A wired data point in the study or back bedroom solves that more reliably than a repeater. We run data cabling through the roof space or under the floor, then drop it behind the skirting. That keeps ceiling roses and cornices intact. For TV wall mounting, the fixing depends on whether the wall is brick, plaster or timber frame, and the cable and a new powerpoint end up behind the screen. Many period homes have TV points in the wrong corner, so we move them if needed and test the antenna feed before we leave. Flats near the station get the same care, and owners hear exactly where we drilled. The aim is a house that works with modern gear without looking like it does.
