House rewiring in Ripponlea is a real consideration where original cable still runs in some rooms and newer cable in others. We test first and propose a plan that fits the house.
Ripponlea 3185
The mix of old and new wiring is the defining electrical feature of many houses here. A front room may still have rubber or cloth wiring behind the plaster while the kitchen has modern cable. That makes testing important, because one good-looking room says nothing about the next. We test insulation resistance, inspect the roof and subfloor, and note where earlier owners made changes. If a rewire is needed, we plan it in stages, using the roof space and floor voids to avoid damaging ceiling roses, cornices and timber detail. In the flat blocks, wiring may run through shared structure, so we involve the owners corporation. Heritage overlays do not usually stop internal work, but we still keep the front tidy. You end up with a house that is safe, tested and documented, and ready for the kitchen and lighting you want next.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Ripponlea.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
Often yes. We start from above and below, using the roof and the subfloor wherever possible, and drop cables inside walls without opening large sections of plaster. Some patching is usually needed at outlets and switches. We tell you where, before we begin.
