Induction cooktop installation

Most Hampton East kitchens were laid out for a gas hob or an old electric stove, and the wiring behind them reflects that. An induction cooktop draws a lot more current, so it needs its own circuit and a board that can supply it. In post-war homes that is often the sticking point, since an original board has little room to spare. Townhouses are easier on the board but tend to have island benches or tight cabinetry, so the cut-out size and ventilation clearance matter. We check both before you buy. If you are moving from gas to induction, the gas plumber caps the old supply and we connect the cooktop and test it. We do not repair cooktops. We install them, wire them correctly and make sure the circuit is safe.
