Switchboard upgrades

Open the meter box on a lightly updated post-war home and the story is usually visible straight away. A porcelain fuse holder here, a lone breaker added in the nineties there, and no RCD protecting the power circuits. Hampton East has plenty of houses in exactly this state, and the owners often only find out when they add an oven or a split system and the board cannot cope. We fit a new board with individual circuit breakers and safety switches, label every circuit, and test that each one trips as it should. Townhouses are different. Their boards are newer, but rooms for an EV charger or extra circuits can be limited, so we check spare capacity first. Where the meter sits on common property, we coordinate with the owners corporation and the distributor so the paperwork matches the work.
