A period kitchen refit is the best time to move from gas to induction. Our induction cooktop installation in Ivanhoe starts with the cable route through an older house.
Ivanhoe 3079
Ivanhoe owners put real effort into their kitchens, and the cooktop is a centrepiece. Induction is popular because it is sleek, easy to clean and works well with stone benchtops. In an older home, the electrical side takes some thought. The cooktop needs a dedicated circuit, with cable running from the board, and in a Federation house the route may lead through a roof space or under timber floors rather than a simple wall. If the kitchen sits in a rear extension, the distance can be long. We map the route, check the board has room and tell you if the board needs attention first. For architect-designed homes with concrete floors or built-in joinery, the cable must go in before the finishes. Talk to your kitchen designer so the connection point is in the right place. Gas capping is a separate licensed job.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main induction cooktops page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Ivanhoe.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
We usually go under the floor or through the roof space from the board to the kitchen. The exact route depends on access, and we inspect it first. Planning it before the joinery goes in saves a lot of trouble.
