Old terrace kitchens usually have the oven connected to a circuit that has had a few additions over the years. Sometimes the oven shares with the stovetop or a powerpoint, which is why breakers trip when everything is on. When we install a wall oven, we check the cavity in your joinery, the size of the cable and the breaker behind it. For a freestanding oven, we confirm the cooker outlet is in good condition. In the older cottages near Commercial Road, the kitchen wall might be brick, plaster over lath or a mix of both, which affects where a connection can sit. We do installs only, so if your old oven has failed, an appliance technician has to diagnose it. We remove the old connection safely, wire the new oven and test it. That includes checking the oven's fan and light work as they should.
