A kitchen in a 1960s walk-up might be two metres of bench with an oven that has been there since the building went up. Replacing it is usually quick, as long as the circuit is right. We check the cable, the breaker and the connection, because the original stove circuit may have been sized for something smaller. If you are fitting a wall oven into new joinery, we want to see the cabinetry plan before the cabinetmaker locks it in, since the connection point has to fall somewhere sensible. Access can be the awkward bit in a block, with stairs, narrow doors and rules about moving large items, so we work around the building's requirements. We install only, and leave repairs to the manufacturer or an appliance technician. After we are done, we test the oven and label its circuit at your board.
