A split system installation in Prahran starts with where the outdoor unit can go. Our job is the electrical side: a dedicated circuit, an isolator and a safe connection.
Prahran 3181
On a narrow terrace block, outdoor space is limited. The unit might sit down the side path, on the back wall or on a balcony, and each spot changes how we run the cable. We provide the dedicated circuit from the switchboard, mount an isolator beside the outdoor unit and make the connection to the indoor head. An air conditioner installer handles the refrigerant side. In older cottages the switchboard often needs attention first, since a modern split system is a big load for a fuse-era supply. Ceiling fan installation is a popular alternative, especially in rooms with high Victorian ceilings where a fan can move air well. We check that the ceiling can support the weight and add a brace where needed. In flats near High Street, the body corporate usually has a say, so ask before buying a unit.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main a/c & ceiling fans page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Prahran.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
Sometimes, but it depends on the board's capacity and condition. A split system needs its own circuit. If your fuse board is already full or has no safety switches, we may suggest upgrading the board first. We check before quoting and explain what is needed.
