Canterbury's Federation and Edwardian houses carry decades of changes. You might find rubber or cloth wiring in the roof, a 1960s patch in the hallway and brand new circuits in the extension, all in one house. Old insulation turns brittle with age, and that is when a rewire becomes a safety job rather than a tidy-up. Pressed metal ceilings and decorative plaster make us slow down. We use the roof space, the subfloor and existing wall cavities, and cut small, neat access points only where we have to. Sometimes it makes sense to rewire in stages, starting with the worst rooms and carrying on as you renovate. Whichever way you go, we test everything, replace the board if needed, and give you the compliance paperwork. A plasterer can then patch our access points so you barely see them.
