House rewiring in Box Hill South is worth considering in the 1950s and 60s homes still carrying their original cable. We assess it first, then plan a rewire that avoids tearing the place apart.
Box Hill South 3128
Post-war weatherboard and brick homes were built simply, and so was their wiring. Some of it is rubber insulated, some early plastic, and it has had decades of heat in the roof space. Often the house has been added to over the years without the original wiring being brought up to date. We start with a proper inspection of the board, the roof space and a sample of outlets. If a rewire is needed, we work in stages where we can, running cable through the ceiling and under floors, and cutting walls only where we must. For a weatherboard house, that can be easier than people expect. A rewire is also the right time to add circuits you never had, such as a separate one for air conditioning or an outdoor powerpoint, and to replace the board in the same visit.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Box Hill South.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
We look at the cable insulation in the roof, test the circuits and inspect the board. Brittle or cracked insulation, burnt marks or too many circuits sharing one wire are signs. Sometimes a repair or board upgrade is enough, and we will say so.
