House rewiring in Box Hill matters most in the older brick houses outside the towers. We assess what is in the walls and roof, then plan a rewire that keeps the mess in check.
Box Hill 3128
Not every Box Hill property is a tower. Streets away from the centre still have interwar houses and post-war brick homes with their original cable, and some have had only partial updates over the years. Old rubber insulation goes brittle, and cable from the post-war years can be early plastic that has aged badly in a hot roof space. We open the board, look in the roof and test what we can reach. If a rewire is warranted, we plan it room by room, usually working from the roof space and under the floors. That keeps cornices and brickwork undisturbed in most places. New wiring means new circuits for the kitchen, laundry and any air conditioning you want, and a switchboard that suits the load. Units tend to need a different approach, since shared walls and strata approvals come into it.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Box Hill.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
It depends on what we find. If the cable is brittle or the board is full, a rewire is worth doing first, since renovation work often disturbs old wiring anyway. We inspect and give you a plain assessment, with no pressure either way.
