House rewiring

Not every old Elwood house needs a rewire. Some have been partly updated over the years, so a bungalow may have rubber or cloth wiring in one wing and newer cable in the other. We test each circuit, check the roof space and the subfloor, and check the quality of earlier repairs. If the old wiring is the problem, a rewire in stages makes sense, so you can live in the house between stages. Heritage overlays mean we avoid anything that changes the look from the street, and inside we protect cornices and ceiling roses. Elwood's flats are a different job, because cable runs are often through shared structure, so we plan carefully and involve the owners corporation where needed.
