Moving from gas to induction in South Yarra means a new circuit and a tidy cutout in the bench. We handle both the wiring and the cooktop installation.

Kitchens here range from narrow galley layouts in the 1970s walk-ups to renovated open-plan rooms at the back of Victorian terraces. The first thing we ask is what your bench is made of and where the cooktop sits, because the cutout has to match the new unit. An induction cooktop needs its own dedicated circuit, and an older flat's limited supply may need checking before we add one. If you are leaving gas behind, the supply to the old hob has to be safely capped by a licensed gasfitter, which is not our trade, but we can coordinate with you on timing. We also check the range hood outlet and the clearance below the cooktop. When the circuit, cutout and wiring are done, we install the cooktop and test every zone. Cooks who switch to induction tend to say it is quick to heat and easy to wipe clean.

Yes, for one part of it. A licensed gasfitter has to disconnect and cap the gas line to your old cooktop. We handle the new circuit, the cooktop installation and testing. We can work around your gasfitter's visit so the kitchen isn't out of action longer than necessary.
