Split system installation in South Yarra needs more than a unit on a wall. Our part is the electrical side: a proper circuit, an isolator and a neat connection.

We do the electrical work for air conditioning and ceiling fans. That means a dedicated circuit from the switchboard, an isolator beside the outdoor unit and a safe connection to the indoor head. A mounting installer handles refrigerant and brackets. In a Victorian terrace, the challenge is routing. Cables have to travel through the roof space or wall without damaging period plaster. In a flat, the outdoor unit may have to sit on a balcony, and body corporate rules often apply, so check those before you buy the unit. We also look at the switchboard. A bedroom system on a 1970s board can overload a circuit. A ceiling fan is a simpler job, though the fixing point must be solid, and in older ceilings we often add a brace. Ask us to look at the ceiling first.

Most buildings have rules about outdoor units on balconies or external walls, so check your strata documents first. We then supply the dedicated circuit, isolator and electrical connection. If approval is needed, it is best to have it in hand before the unit is delivered.
