Replacing a single tired fitting with LED downlights can change a whole room. In South Yarra we fit lighting that suits the home, from Victorian ceilings to apartment bulkheads.

Ceilings decide everything in lighting installation. A grand Victorian terrace has high ceilings and decorative cornices, so we cut downlights cleanly and keep the plaster detail intact. Pendant lights over a kitchen bench need the right ceiling support and a switch position that makes sense. In the apartment towers around Chapel Street and Toorak Road, concrete slabs usually rule out recessed fittings, so we look at surface-mount LEDs, track and wall lights instead. Dimmers are the quiet hero here. They let one living room do dinner, movies and Sunday cleaning, but the dimmer has to match the LED driver or the lights flicker. We test that before we leave. If a body corporate controls the balcony or common area lights, we will not touch them without its sign-off. For a courtyard off a South Yarra terrace, garden lighting on its own switch is easy to add and kind to the neighbours.

Usually a recessed downlight can't go into a solid slab, so we don't try. We use surface-mount LED panels, track, pendants or wall lights, and sometimes lower a section with existing cavity space. We look at your ceiling first and tell you honestly what will work.
