In a 1920s bungalow, a bedroom might have one outlet and a lounge room two. Cords stretch across the floor and double adaptors pile up behind furniture. A tidy fix is to add outlets where you actually use them. We start by checking the existing wiring, since adding outlets to patched or porcelain-fused circuits is not a good idea. If the wiring is sound, we pull cable up from the subfloor or across the ceiling cavity and add double powerpoints along the walls that matter. Many owners here renovate gradually, so we can fit outlets room by room and keep the order flexible. USB-C outlets suit the kitchen bench and bedside, while an outdoor powerpoint on the back verandah handles the garden. If the wiring is not up to it, we say so, because the right move may be a board upgrade or rewire first.
