Induction cooktop installation in Deepdene often follows a kitchen refresh in an older house, and brings along a board check the old gas cooktop never needed.
Deepdene 3103
People who have lived in a bungalow for years tend to renovate in steps: bathroom this year, kitchen the next. When the kitchen goes in, many choose to leave gas behind. An induction cooktop needs a dedicated circuit with the right cable, and in a house with an original board that is often the missing piece. We look at the board, run the new circuit and connect the cooktop. If the board has no spare capacity, we suggest upgrading it, which fits the gradual approach: board first, kitchen circuit next, wiring later. A licensed gasfitter will cap the old supply. We then test all zones and the breaker, and you can start cooking. Test your pans with a magnet, because cast iron and many stainless pans work well while aluminium does not.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main induction cooktops page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Deepdene.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
It depends on access. Most older houses have a roof space or subfloor we can use, and we run the cable down inside the wall to the cooktop position. We look at the access first and tell you what patching to expect. Plan for a plasterer or painter afterwards.
