Split system and ceiling fan electrical

Cottages here often have low front rooms, and a ceiling fan needs enough clearance to be safe. We check the height before we hang one, and we use a fixing that suits old ceilings. For a split system, the outdoor unit usually goes on a side path or small deck, and we run a dedicated circuit with an isolator beside it. The refrigerant pipework is for the air conditioning installer. In the red-brick walk-ups, balconies are shared or owned by the building, so the body corporate generally has to agree before anything is bolted on. Many flats also have a limited supply, which means a bedroom system could be fine and a whole-flat system too much. In older cottages the switchboard may need to be looked at before a new circuit can be added. We check first, and we do not guess.
